Dear Parent/Guardian,

USD 262 is participating in a Civil Rights Audit through KSDE. This interview supports that process by gathering student perspectives and experiences. The information collected will help the district assess current practices, identify strengths, and understand where systems and supports may need improvement to ensure an equitable learning environment for all students.

Please review the information below, along with the attached copy of the survey. Your child will only be allowed to participate if you provide written permission. If you choose to opt in, please complete and return the permission slip.

Survey Title: Civil Rights Audit Student Interview

Survey Producer/Organization: Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE)

How Student Data Will Be Used: Responses will be used solely to inform the district’s Civil Rights Audit, support system-level reflection, and guide potential improvements. Individual student names will not be reported in audit findings.

Survey Administration Window: December 8, 2025, through January 23, 2026
