Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year, #HornetFamily! We are excited to welcome our students back to school, and if you are new to our district, we are happy you are here! USD 262 is a growing school district. Our vision is to be a premier school district known for excellence in education, innovative instruction, outstanding programs, and dedication to students.

Fees: 

2024-2025 Fees
Student Textbook Rental / Consumable Fee Statements will be available by Monday, September 16, 2024, on Parent Portal. Free/Reduced lunch applications received prior to that time will impact what and if any fees are charged. If you are interested in completing a Free/Reduced lunch applications, please complete online through your Parent Portal or by paper application available at your school or the district office. If you have questions please call the District Office at 316.755.7000.

First day of school for first through sixtth grade, ninth grade, and all new students.

August 14, 2024

First day of school for seventh and eighth grade, and 10th through 12th grade.

First day of school for Kindergarten.

Abilene Elementary School

August 12 - Meet Your Teacher Night from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

August 15 - Kindergarten Meet Your Teacher Night from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.

West Elementary School

August 12 - Meet Your Teacher Night from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

August 15 - Kindergarten Meet Your Teacher Night from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.

Wheatland Elementary School

August 12 - Meet Your Teacher Night from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

August 15 - Kindergarten Meet Your Teacher Night from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.

Valley Center Intermediate School

August 8 - Back to School Night at 5:30 p.m. (4th grade) and 6:00 p.m. (5th grade).

Valley Center Middle School

August 13 - Open House will be from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. This will be a come-and-go event with the opportunity to meet teachers.

Valley Center High School

July 31 and August 6 - Checkout for Chromebooks, lockers, and parking permits.

August 19 - Hornet Palooza begins at 5:30 p.m.
