Hornet Logo Usage Information

Using the Hornet Logo

The use of the trademarked Hornet logo is permissible following district approval. There are
two types of agreements between the district and those wishing to use the logo; free use and
fee-based use.


Free Use

Local patrons, businesses, and school groups can request the use of the logo at no charge. In
order to be approved for such use, all designs must be approved by the Assistant
Superintendent of Schools. Additionally, the free-use agreement must be signed by the
requestor and district representative. The agreement assures the district that any outside
companies hired to produce any products will only use the logo on orders from the party who
signs the agreement.


Fee-based Use

Other companies, organizations, or individuals can also request the use of the logo for a fee.
The fee is 8% of the company’s annual net sales of products that use the logo. All designs must
be approved by the Assistant Superintendent of Schools prior to production. Additionally, the
district has the right to inspect all products using the logo prior to distribution/sale. The fee-
based use agreement must be signed by the requestor and district representative.
