  • KONA ICE will be here Friday, April 27th during lunch periods. KONA ICE will be donating 40% of sales back to the Leukemia Society! Prices are $2, $3, $4, & $5 color changing cup


  • There has been a last minute addition for local senior scholarships :


      The Riley Greenwood Memorial Scholarship

  1. Application deadline is Friday, April 27.   Due to the HS Guidance office by 3:00 pm.
  2. Awarded to a student who will pursue a career in the medical or biology/life sciences field
  3. Student has taken Anatomy or Biology II at VCHS
  4. Applicants must submit 1-page essay describing why he/she should be considered for the scholarship
  5. Applicants must also provide a list of extra-curricular activities since Mr. Greenwood was a firm believer in being involved


    • Drama Club will meet tomorrow during Activity Period in the auditorium. We will elect next year’s officers and go over information about the end of year banquet and Thespian Initiation.


      Congratulations to the cast and crew of the fall musical, Little Shop of Horrors! We were recently notified that our production was nominated for 7 Jester awards listed below. The Jesters program is designed to celebrate excellence in high school musical theatre. This year, 102 judges viewed 127 performances of 41 productions, involving more than 2800 students and 41 schools across the state of Kansas. The program began in Wichita, but now extends as far as Liberal, Hays, Salina, and Pittsburg, in addition to the greater Wichita area. Final results will be announced on May 6. We are excited to announce the following nominations:

    • The annual VCHS Alumni Banquet happens the first Saturday in June every year. The graduating senior class is invited!If fact, if you want to attend, you can call Dean Frankenbery at 316/838-4945 before May 26th & tell him you are with the current 2018 graduating class, and they will have a special table for you and will cover the cost of your meal!This years’ 50th year Honor Class is 1968, and the 25th year class of 1993 will be recognized as well.They hope to see you there!

  • If you are interested in gaining experience in a classroom setting, apply to be a teacher assistant for Camp Hornet! Applications are due by Friday, May 4th. Please see Mrs. Reyes for how to apply.


  • Plan to attend the 5th Annual after, “After Prom” FREE breakfast.Don’t miss Mrs. Joyal’s GOURMET, all you can eat pancakes, French toast, BACONand other great food served in a restaurant style atmosphere!!!It will be held at the First United Methodist Church at 5th and Meridian from 2:00-3:30 a.m.Please make a reservation outside Mrs. Joyal’s door so the amount of food needed can be determined.SADD & VC Parents are sponsoring this free event!!!



  • The Guidance Office would like a copy of YOUR university, college, military, apprenticeship, or employment acceptance letter!We are EXCITED for our seniors to have options and plans for next year and want to celebrate with you!If you have an acceptance letter or certificate that you would like to share with us, bring it to the guidance office and we will make a copy.We plan to laminate and share these examples of your future options with our students, staff and visitors in a BIG way.You can email us a copy or bring it by the office if you choose.Congrats seniors!We are excited for your future!


  • After School Tutoring in the Library every Monday-Thursday from 3:00 P.M.-4:30 P.M.

Drop in to get extra support, use the computers, or have a quiet place to study.
