General “Need To Know” Info:



This is a reminder that most of you will be taking the ACT on Tuesday.  Your advisory teacher has the room assignments for tomorrow.  Please check this so you know where you are to go for testing.  You need to report to the upstairs C hallway at 7:45.  Remember to bring a photo ID, a pencil and an ACT approved calculator.  Also, your advisory teacher has a list of the students who will take the WorkKeys on Wednesday.  Please check that list if you signed up to take that test in the fall.


Baseball parent and player meeting will be February 27th at 6:30 PM in the Commons.


Anyone wanting to try out for the 2020-2021 VCHS Cheer Squad -

All VCHS Cheer Tryout paperwork is due to Stephanie in the Athletic Office by this Thursday, February 27th at 3:00 p.m.

Please make sure all of your teachers have received an evaluation to complete and have turned in by Thursday as well.


The Theatre Department is excited to announce auditions for the spring play! Monday, Feb 24 at 3:00 p.m. and Tuesday, February 24 at 6:30 p.m. ANYONE can audition - you do not have to be taking a theatre class. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script and some improv. The show is a thriller, so work on those screams! Students of color are encouraged to audition. VCHS PROM DATE GOLF TOURNAMENT!  2 person Coed 9 hole scramble event at Valley Point Golf Course. Monday, April 13th at 11:00 am.  $10 per couple.  Winners will be awarded a gift certificate to the Wichita restaurant of their choice.  Due to KSHSAA rules, boy’s golf team members are ineligible to participate.  Sign up in the office. 


Ladies, additional prom dresses in various sizes have arrived in the library.  Be sure to check them out if you are in need of a prom dress. Contact Mrs. Joyal in C-18 or Mrs. Sirignano in the library.

Any senior who plans to go to WSU Tech in the fall, pursuing a degree in aviation, manufacturing, design, business or police science is eligible for a $500 scholarship.  Register NOW to be considered for a scholarship:


KSU STUDENT Shadow Days are coming!   The mission of EXCITE Shadow Days is to increase girls’ interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields. This opportunity is open to all high school students (grades 9-12), EXCITE Shadow Days provide a unique “day in the life” experience! Participants are paired with a current K-State undergraduate majoring in a field of shared interest. Together, they attend class, tour campus, share lunch, and talk about what it's like to be in college.  The schedule is as follows:   February 26 - College of Health and Human Sciences, March 25 - College of Arts and Sciences, April 1 - College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine and Coming Fall 2020 - College of Engineering.  For more information go to

Scholarships and monthly announcements have been posted to the VCHS Counseling website under Scholarships and Financial Aid.  Scholarships are organized by deadline month.  Check these regularly as more scholarships will be added each month.

Lost & Found

   There is a table in the hallway next to the café with large lost & found items. Smaller items are in the front office.  Take a look at either location for items you may be missing.  You’d be surprised what a collection we have (glasses, retainers, jewelry, etc)! 



IMPORTANT LUNCH INFORMATIONParents/Guardians are the only guest that are allowed to eat lunch with students.  The only exception will be special circumstances with PRIOR APPROVAL FROM ADMINISTRATION.
