Congrats to Mati Newman and Lauryn Williams on qualifying

for the 5A state golf tournament in Emporia next week!


Students who are registered for the PSAT on Wednesday, will need to report Wednesday morning at 7:45 to the library.  Please bring a pencil and a calculator.  You will be excused from your morning classes for this test.


Any junior or senior interested in taking the ASVAB should sign up in the counselor's office before this Wednesday, October, 16.  The ASVAB is a FREE, multiple choice test administered by the United States Military Entrance Processing command and is used to determine qualification for enlistment in the US Armed Forces.  



Are you a fan of Haunted Houses and jump scares? The Drama Club will once again be partnering with the Intermediate School for their annual haunted house. This year, Dr Skinner's Human Zoo is looking for volunteers to help with the event set for Saturday, October 26. We are looking for construction help, monsters, victims and everyone in-between. ASVAB – Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at 8:30 am.  The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a multiple-choice test, administered by the United States Military Entrance Processing Command, used to determine qualification for enlistment in the United States Armed Forces. It will be offered free of charge to any interested junior or senior student.  Sign up by October 18 in the Guidance Office.


Scholarships and monthly announcements have been posted to the VCHS Counseling website under Scholarships and Financial Aid.  Scholarships are organized by deadline month.  Check these regularly as more scholarships will be added each month.  



Wichita State University’s Scholarship Competitions will be held this Fall.  To participate, you must:

Have a 3.50 grade point average OR earn a 27 or higher composite on the ACT or a 1280 on the SAT (critical reading and math sections only) OR be in the top 10 percent of your senior class

Be admitted to WSU by Oct. 15, 2019. Students should visit to complete the admissions application. Submit scholarship competition materials by Nov. 1, 2019. Visit
